Mitsubishi might not be part of Honda-Nissan merger

In line with a report by Reuters, Mitsubishi is contemplating not becoming a member of the deliberate merger between Honda and Nissan. Sources instructed the information outlet that Mitsubishi, which is 34.01% owned by Nissan, plans to stay listed on the Tokyo Inventory Trade whereas working along with each automakers.

Final December, it was confirmed that Honda and Nissan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to discover the opportunity of a merger. Each corporations intention to achieve a definitive settlement regarding execution of the enterprise integration (together with the share switch plan) by June 2025, following which a holding firm can be arrange by August 2026.

As for Mitsubishi, it was introduced on the time that the corporate reached a primary settlement to proceed with discussions for it to turn out to be the third member of the “new alliance.” In a launch, the corporate stated it goals to achieve a choice on its participation by the top of January 2025.
