Movie director Ranjith now going through critical allegations of sexual misconduct, with two separate instances filed towards him. That is the second case of sexual allegations towards Ranjith. Earlier, Bengali actor Sreelekha Mitra had filed a grievance towards him, alleging rape. The Kochi police have registered an FIR in connection together with her grievance, which alleges that she was raped in a lodge in Kochi.

Ranjith denied the accusations, explaining that Mitra was referred to as for an audition for the film ‘Paleri Manikyam’, however he determined that she was not appropriate for the function and despatched her again.
